Taking inspiration from the social, spiritual and cultural elements of the rave culture, R.Sasmita has explored her interests in art and fashion through various materials and mediums in her practice. Born and raised in Singapore, she graduated from NAFA with a Diploma in Fine Art, she moved on to creating conceptual art pieces that encapsulate those ideas by weaving fabric manipulation and destressing of which she exhibited her installation work Intrapersonal in 2019. The 24-year-old artist's most well-known piece to date is Poster culture, a conceptual mural created in collaboration with the bar The Elephant Room Singapore that is inspired by the grungy, uneven walls of India’s cityscapes.

With the creation of zines, product designs, and video works, she quickly found a niche in visual storytelling and design, which she has since further explores in her BA(Hons) in Fashion Media and Industries in LASALLE Collage of Arts. She continues to broaden her interest in the relationship between fine art and fashion, and with a background in both, she hopes to become an art director.
